Knowledge and Health Care Seeking Behaviors of Old Age Patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia at Assiut University Urology Hospital, Egypt

Background: Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia is a common condition in the elderly population. It affects physical health status persons over 65 years and interferes with their daily activities. Study Aim: to assess knowledge care seeking behaviors among old age patients hyperplasia Sample: aged 60 above diagnosed benign prostatic hyperplasia. The total sample size was 218 elderly. Cross-sectional research design used this study. Setting: study conducted outpatient clinic at Assiut University urology hospital. Tools: Three tools were used, first tool an interview structured questionnaire that includes demographic data, present past history patient's regarding second of principal reasons for seek medical advices third International Prostate Symptom Score/quality life questionnaire. Results: Ninety percent had poor level 39.9% them sever symptoms. Conclusion: showed majority studied score.
